Installation to a wall or a fence

tools 120

To install a wall mounted mailbox you need: A drill,1/4"  drill bit for steel (+ a drill bit for brick), a vacuum cleaner, a screwdriver and a tape measure. Fastening screws (for wood) are included but extra anchors are needed if the wall is made of brick, stone, etc. If you are uncertain about the corrrect placement please contact your local postoffice prior the installation.

Although USPS does not regulate the mounting of mailboxes on the house in situations where USPS delivers directly to the customers’ door, we recommend that the mailbox be mounted in a safe place with easy access for both the carrier and the home owner. The height from the ground to the mail-slot opening is recommended to be 41”- 45”.

drill01Place the mailbox face down on a surface that will not scratch it.

There are 4 preformed markings for fixing holes on the back of the letterbox.

drill03Drill out the holes with low speed and clean the holes and remove all the metal remnants. Be careful not to scrach the surface. We recommend using a vacuum cleaner to ensure all the small metal parts are removed from the holes, seams and bottom of the letterbox. Otherwise, metal remnants can, over time, start to rust.
